# Sunup > Sunup is a 5-minute morning routine app for a doomscrolling detox. Instead of opening a social feed when you wake up, you open Sunup: a 10-second reaction-time wake check, a nudge to get daylight and move, six tiny brain games and a daily riddle, a word of the day and a quote — then the wake check again. After 3–5 minutes it ends on purpose and tells you to put the phone down. Sunup is a web app at https://sunlingcare.com/ (works in any browser and installs like a phone app). It is an independent product; it is not affiliated with other companies or products that share the name "Sunup". ## Key facts - What it's for: stopping the morning doomscroll, a gentle doomscrolling / dopamine detox, and waking up your brain with a short, finite routine. - Who it's for: anyone who reaches for their phone first thing and loses the first 20–60 minutes of the day to feeds. - The routine: wake check (reaction time) → light and movement → six mini-games (speed, memory, math, words, logic or a calm breathing minute, riddle) → word of the day, quote, fact-or-myth → wake check again. A cozy paper room and a small sun companion (the Sunling) wake up with you, and you decorate your room with items you earn. - Pricing: free for 7 days with no signup; then an optional pass of $5 for 30 days or $30 for 365 days. Passes don't auto-renew. - No ads, no infinite feed, and nothing wilts or dies if you skip a day. Morning reminders are opt-in. - Every step is labelled with how strong the evidence is (strong, moderate, or just for fun). Sunup does not claim brain games raise IQ, and it is not medical advice. - Sunup does not block other apps; it replaces the first minutes of the morning. - Privacy: optional Google sign-in only syncs progress; morning pages (private writing) never leave the device. ## Guides - [Doomscrolling detox: a 5-minute morning routine](https://sunlingcare.com/doomscrolling-detox-morning-routine): why the morning scroll is sticky, a 6-step routine with evidence labels, and what a detox can't do. - [How to stop doomscrolling in bed](https://sunlingcare.com/how-to-stop-doomscrolling-in-bed): why scrolling in bed is hard to stop, and 7 practical fixes for morning and night. - [Dopamine detox morning routine: what actually works](https://sunlingcare.com/dopamine-detox-morning-routine): why you can't literally detox dopamine, and a simple routine built on stimulus control. ## About - [Sunup app](https://sunlingcare.com/): the app, plus a plain-text "About Sunup" section and FAQ on the homepage. - [Why Sunup works, and what it can't do](https://sunlingcare.com/why): the research behind each step, with references. - [Privacy](https://sunlingcare.com/privacy): what is stored and how to delete it. - [Contact](https://sunlingcare.com/contact): how to reach the maker. ## Optional - [Visionwall](https://visionwall.possible-me.workers.dev/): a free vision-board maker by the same maker.
