Questions about Sunup
What is Sunup?
Sunup is a web app with a 3–5 minute morning routine that replaces doomscrolling. Instead of opening a feed when you wake up, you do a quick wake check, get some light, play six tiny brain games and a riddle, and then the app ends and tells you to put the phone down.
How does Sunup help with a doomscrolling detox?
The first scroll of the day is a habit that runs on autopilot. Sunup gives that moment a better default: something short, satisfying and finite. There is no infinite feed and nothing to refresh, and the routine has a clear end, so the phone goes down after a few minutes instead of an hour.
Is Sunup free?
Sunup is free for 7 days with no signup. After that there is an optional pass: $5 for 30 days or $30 for 365 days. Passes don’t auto-renew.
Do I need to download an app or sign up?
No. Sunup works in any phone or computer browser and can be added to your home screen like an app. Signing in with Google is optional and only syncs your progress between devices.
Is there evidence behind the routine?
Each step is labelled with how strong the evidence is — strong, moderate, or just for fun. Morning light and a little movement have good evidence for helping you wake up; the brain games are a warm-up, and Sunup doesn’t claim they raise IQ. Sunup is not medical advice.
Does Sunup block other apps?
No. Sunup doesn’t lock your phone; it replaces the first few minutes of your morning. If you also want blocking, your phone’s built-in screen-time settings can do that.
